Apart from reviewing the activities report for 2008 presented by Secretary PNF Mudassar Arain, the meeting chaired by the federation’s president Capt (retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan also approved a standard model constitution on the lines of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA).

While okaying the federation’s budget for 2009, the council allotted the 9th National Men’s Netball Championship to NWFP, to be held in Peshawar in March.

The inter-provincial men’s netball championship has been given to the Punjab Netball Association (PNA), to be hosted by Lahore in May.

The national Under-16 girls’ netball championship, to be organised by the Islamabad Netball Association will take place in the capital in February.

The inter-provincial women’s event, scheduled for June, was awarded to Sindh Netball Association (SNA).

The 9th National Women’s Netball Championship 2009 will be organised by the Sindh Netball Association (SNA) in Karachi and Hyderabad in September.

The national inter-departmental netball championship will be hosted by Rawalpindi in November.

Meanwhile, the national umpiring and coaching course will be organised by the National Umpiring Association at Lahore in January.

The coming year will also include Pakistan’s participation in two foreign tournaments — the European Open Netball Championship 2009, in UK and the 5-Nation Men’s Netball Cup 2009 in Queensland, Australia.
