SOA names 25 officials for OCA course

KARACHI, Nov 21: The Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) on Friday named 25 sports officials including six women from across the province who will attend the weeklong Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Sports Administration course which runs at a local hotel from Nov 24 to 30.

Funded by the OCA, the course is being held in the city for the second time the last being in 2003.

According to organising secretary, Ahmed Ali, eminent people will throw light on various aspects including sports injuries and women’s sports during the course.

Participants: Noor Hasan Baloch (athletics), Abdul Nasir (basketball), Syed Saeed Jamil (bodybuilding), Mohammad Younus Pathan (boxing), Sohail Haider (canoeing), Mohammad Siddiq (football), Mohammad Mansoor Baig (handball), Amir Siddiqui (hockey), Mohammad Ali (judo), Abdul Rahim (kabaddi), Mohammad Idrees Siddiqui (karate), Yousuf Qudwai (gymnastics), Tahir Jamil Khanzada (squash), Saleem Ahmed Shaikh (table tennis), Sarwar Hussain (tennis), Akhtar Khan Durrani (tug-of-war), Mohammad Arshad (volleyball), Nafees Ahmed (weightlifting), Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi (wushu), Mahiya Moin (badminton), Ayesha Qureshi (netball), Marium Kerio (gymnastics), Shahnaz Manzoor Khan (taekwon do), Sana Ali (throw ball) and Neelam Khokhar (wushu).
