QUETTA, Nov 20: Rail link with Iran was disrupted for several hours on Thursday after a blast on the Quetta-Zahidan track in Mastung district.

The early morning blast blew up a two-foot portion of the track, railways officials said.

The damaged track was repaired and rail service was restored in the afternoon.

A heavy exchange of fire between FC troops and militants was reported from Sangsella, some 20 km off Dera Bugti.

The gunbattle took place after a Frontier Corps convoy was attacked with heavy weapons.

The exchange of fire continued for about half an hour.

After the clash, more Frontier Corps troops were deployed in the area.
