KARACHI, Nov. 19: The Pakistan Herald Workers Union organised a meeting on Wednesday to mourn the death of Dawn Media Group Chairman Mahmoud A. Haroon.

The meeting, attended by Director Operations of the group Mrs Amber Saigol and a large number of workers, expressed deep sorrow and grief over his demise.

It also adopted a resolution eulogizing contributions of Mr Haroon in making the Dawn a leading brand in the national media industry and a respected name around the world. It said that independent editorial discretion was the cornerstone of his vision that gave Dawn the image and the prestige that it enjoyed today.

The meeting was addressed by PHWU president Afzal Baloch and general secretary Shafiuddin Ashraf, Mujeebur Rehman, Lateef Baloch, Akbar Baloch and Mrs Amber Saigol.—Staff Reporter
