FAISALABAD, Nov 16: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Sunday that all political parties would have two groups in coming days because of internal rifts.

He was addressing a gathering at Haseeb Shaheed Colony where he inaugurated his party’s office.

He said all parties from ANP to PML-Q would have two groups. Sensing the situation, both major political parties should focus on resolving country’s problems as masses were much perturbed over the dismal economic condition.

He said financial assistance being extended by International Monetary Fund (IMF) would do nothing but to suck resources of the country.

“The IMF can also face crisis any time and the economic situation will not be stable soon as Shaukat Tarin and Shaukat Aziz are alike and former employees of a foreign bank.”

The economic problems could easily be resolved, if rulers bring back their money in the country.

Criticising the performance of rulers, Rashid said they had no team and statement of the prime minister that he was ready to quit for anyone who could resolve issues, was indicating his psychological failure.

The AML chief alleged that the government cheated the nation by reducing only 13 per cent of electricity tariff. Earlier, he said the government had announced 33 per cent increase in power rates.

He said ministries were being awarded on quota basis and the government was offering one ministry against six parliamentarians.

He urged the people to develop a consensus on democracy instead of following the political parties’ wishes because they were using masses for their own vested interests.
