LAHORE, Nov 15: A 20-year-old youth committed suicide over the marriage of his beloved in Canalburg Housing Society on Saturday.

Hanjarwal police said the victim was identified as Kashif Mahmood of Nankana district.

Kashif, who had been working as office boy of advocate Rana Waqas for the last two years and living at the latter’s quarter, was found shot dead in his room.

Rana Waqas told the police that he went to the quarter of Kashif at around 9am to awake him but he was found dead with his bullet-riddled skull.

The Hanjarwal SHO quoted victim’s brother Ashfaq as saying that Kashif took it to heart after the girl, whom he loved, was married to another man.

“The interrogation suggested that Kashif committed suicide, but the police have shifted the body for autopsy to know the exact cause of his death,” he said.
