ISLAMABAD, Nov 15: A property dealer has been missing from Islamabad for the last two days, police said on Saturday.

The family members of the property dealer lodged a complaint with the police stating that he had gone to the mosque to offer Fajr prayers on Thursday but never returned. They searched for him everywhere but could not trace him. In the end, they approached the police and lodged a complaint after which Shalimar police registered a case.

The police said there was a possibility that he might have been kidnapped but the main reason was yet to be ascertained.

Normally in a kidnapping for ransom case, the abductors demand money within a few hours, but in this incident no one has established contacts with the family members. The police said there was a possibility that he might have been kidnapped by his rivals if he had any. The property dealer along with 13 other partners was working on a project in Chakwal, they added.

Meanwhile, a retired deputy director’s family narrowly escaped being hit by bullets fired by a robber after seeing the police.

Five armed persons entered the house of Ahmad Hussain in St. No. 41, Sector G-9/1, and held the inmates at gunpoint.

The robbers searched the house and looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs200,000.

Somehow the area police got information about the robbery and rushed to the spot. They arrived at the spot when the robbers were about to escape. On spotting the police, the robbers started indiscriminate fire in the air and at the victim’s house in order to escape. — Staff Reporter
