Task force on private sector notified

ISLAMABAD, Nov 15: The Planning Commission of Pakistan on Thursday notified the Task Force on private sector development.

The task force comprised Pakistan’s leading specialists with rich international experience in private and public sectors.

According to the notification, the task force will be jointly headed by Shahid Javed Burki, former adviser on Finance and Economic Affairs, and vice -president World Bank, and Razaq Dawood, former federal minister for commerce and chairman Descon Engineering as co-chairmen of the force.

Members of the task force are: Bashir Ali Mohammad, chairman Gul Ahmed Textile Mills and member PM’s Economic Advisory Council, Tariq Saeed Saigol, chairman, Kohinoor Textile & Mapple Leaf Group, member central board of SBP and PM’s Economic Advisory Council, Lahore, Salim Ghauri, chairman, Netsol, Zakir Mehmood, president Habib Bank Ltd, Salim Raza, CEO Pakistan Business Council, Yawar Ali, chairman Nestle Pakistan, Abdul Kader Jaffer, president Pakistan Japan Business Forum, Sadruddin Hashwani, chairman Pakistan Services Ltd, Saad Ahsanuddin, Private Equity Investment, Dr. Pervez Hasan, former chief economist, World Bank, Asad Omar CEO Engro Chemical Pakistan, Ms Fauzia Najam, former senior finance officer, World Bank, Saqib Shirazi, president Atlas Honda Group, Ijaz Nabi, dean Social Studies, Lahore Institute of Management Sciences (LUMS), and Roshaneh Zafar, president Kashaff Foundation.

Dr. Rashid Amjad, chief economist Planning Commission will be member and secretary of the force, the notification added. —APP
