LONDON, Nov 13: Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the ICC Cricketer of the Year, has committed to a third spell at English county champions Durham.

The West Indies batsman will play for the county for as much of the 2009 season as his international commitments allow, the county announced on Thursday.

Title-winning captain Dale Benkenstein and Australian opener Michael Di Venuto have meanwhile extended their current contracts with Durham by signing deals that will keep them both at the Riverside until 2011.—AFP
