KARACHI, Nov 6: A 300-plus Sindh sports contingent, comprising players and officials, left here for Peshawar on Thursday by Khushal Khan Khattak Express to feature in the third Inter-provincial Youth Games which runs from Nov 9 to 11.

Sindh sportspersons will compete in all 18 disciplines for men’s and eight for women’s.

The provincial squash team had left for the NWFP capital on Tuesday as they are also committed to participate in the Pakistan Open being held at Islamabad’s Mushaf squash complex from Nov 9-13.

The squash event at Peshawar takes place on Nov 6 and 7 to avoid clash with the Pakistan Open.

Sindh, it may be mentioned, gave a dismal performance in the last Inter-provincial Games held at Lahore two years back finishing third on the overall medals table behind Punjab and NWFP. Balochistan finished on the bottom.

Meanwhile, the athletes and officials of Sindh were provided complete kitbag including track suit, two T-shirts, a cap, and a pair of joggers by the provincial sports board.

Squash team: Kashif Khan, Naveed Alam, Saad Shahid, Nouman Zaman Khan (men’s): Hina Bashir, Habiba Khan, Zahab Khan, Neha Khan (women’s).

Officials: Mohammad Naseem (coach), Khalida Khan (manager).
