GUJRANWALA, Nov 6: The Commissioner House, which was converted into a Children’s Library, is being renovated after the restoration of the commissioner system by the Punjab government.

A source said the district administration had started taking necessary arrangements in this regard. It has already purchased two vehicles for the yet-to-be appointed commissioner besides renovating his official residence situated on the Deputy Commissioner Road. The Children Library is also being shifted to some other suitable place.

The commissioner court room had been converted into the district coordination officer office some four years back. The district administration will, however, decide about the court room after the appointment of the commissioner in Gujranwala.

A source said revenue cases might be heard at the old Commissioner Office.

APPROVAL: The Divisional Headquarters Hospital’s citizen community board has given an approval for upgrading an operation theatre of the medical facility.

Former MPA Abdul Rauf Mughal chaired the meeting on Thursday wherein the participants said that operations of serious patients could not be conducted at the DHQ Hospital till the upgradation of its operation theatre and the provision of modern surgery equipment.

The former MPA announced a donation of Rs800,000 for the DHQ Hospital.
