SIALKOT, May 10: Kashmiris residing in Sialkot and Narowal districts on Friday protested against Indian atrocities in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The protesters held various meetings in Sialkot Daska, Bhopalwala, Sambrial, Uggoki, Pasrur, Chawinda, Badiana, Shakargarh, Zafarwal, Baddomalhi and Narowal.

Speaking to various meetings, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Forum central chairman Dr Zahid Ghani Dar said the present government had successfully globalized the Kashmir issue.

He urged upon the UN to take effective steps to stop the mounting state terrorism in the Held Valley, besides pressurising the Indian government for the early solution to Kashmir dispute.

PMA: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Daska, on Friday at a meeting condemned the manhandling and misbehaviour of the Wapda SDO and his staff with PMA’s senior vice-president Mukhtar Ahmad.

The meeting, chaired by Daska PMA president Dr Muhammad Zafar Awan, also unanimously passed a resolution against the corrupt officials of Wapda, Daska No 1.

It also asked Gujranwala Gepco chief executive chief Brig Mushtaq Ahmad to probe into the matter.

FIRING: The Indian security forces on Friday continued firing on villages in the Sialkot working boundary’s Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Charwa, Sucheetgarh, Jammu, Akhnoor, Saamba and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors.

Sowing and harvesting of seasonal crops were badly disrupted. No causality has yet been reported.

SUSPENDED: The supply of electricity remained suspended for several hours late Thursday night to Sialkot, Daska, Glotiyan, Sambrial, Bhopalwala and rural areas.

The long hours power suspension in the hot weather added difficulties to the people.
