QUETTA, Oct 30: The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has appealed to international agencies to provide aid for the earthquake-affected people of Balochistan.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, party’s secretary-general Akram Shah expressed dissatisfaction over relief work being done by the government.

He criticised the ministers who he said were visiting the affected areas only to get projections in the media, adding that 90 per cent of the rescue and relief work was done by the general public and political activists.

Mr Shah said his party had set up 36 camps for collecting donations and three medical camps. The party has sent dozens of trucks with blankets, tents and food items to affected areas.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Awami National Party, Jamaat-i-Islami and Tehrik-i-Insaaf have also set up camps in different areas of Quetta to collect donations for earthquake victims.
