KARACHI, May 10: Nineteen vehicles — nine cars and 10 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, the police said.

Two cars were hijacked and seven others stolen in New Karachi, Buffer Zone, Saddar, and Civil lines police limits.

Four motorcycles were hijacked and six others stolen in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, PIB Colony, Arambagh, Model Colony, Chakiwara, and Gulbahar police limits.

The police also claimed on Friday to have recovered two cars and two motorcycles in the city.

DIES: An eight-year-old boy died and his friend was injured when a wall of a house collapsed on them in New Karachi on Friday when they were returning home from school.

The police said that Mohsin and his friend Shahzeb were returning home from school, when a wall of their neighbour’s house collapsed on them in sector 11-F in New Karachi.

Both the children were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced Mohsin dead on arrival. Shahzeb was admitted to the hospital.
