Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 30: Ten ships carrying containers and to load naphtha and cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.Five ships, Kota Hapas, X-Press Khyber, Bunga Teratai Dua, Mol Affinity and Hanjin Chittagong were berthed to unload and load containers.

Seven vessels, Afra, Montania, Oel Transworld, Sima Sahba, APL Chicago, Kota Hapas and Malika Naree departed on Thursday, while MOL Affinity, Hanjin Calcutta, Kota Perdana, APL Yokohama, Petali Ladu and X-Press Khyber are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 121,000 tons comprising 30,262 tons of export cargo and 90,667 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Ashraf-B, OBS Anita and Sea Bridge to load 5,200, 14,700 and 24,000 tons of cement respectively, Capriole to load 3,000 tons of ethanol, Higyway Century to load 40,000 tons of naphtha, Northern Harmony, Calvin P. Titus, Oocl Ability and Cap Gabriel with containers, Sea Bridge and Union Carrier with general cargo.
