LARKANA, Oct 29: Low intensity tremors were felt in Larkana, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Qubo Saeed Khan, Jacobabad and Dadu towns at around 5.35 pm on Wednesday, leaving a three-year-old boy injured.

People, who were already scared by tragic news of a major quake hitting Blaochistan the same day, which had left hundreds dead and injured as many, ran outside the rooms and enclosed areas for fear of being buried alive.

Reports from Shahdadkot said that three-year-old Sajjad Ali Mastoi suffered injuries after a wall collapsed in Mastoi Mohalla due to jolts that lasted for 10 to 15 seconds. There was no report of any casualty from any part of the district.

Reports said that people in Qambar and Qubo Saeed Khan towns also felt tremors.

Jacobabad experienced three jolts at around 5.30pm, causing terrified people to run for life, leaving their workplaces, shops and homes unattended.

People in Dadu and its adjoining areas also reported feeling tremors in the evening but no loss of property and life was reported from any part of the district.

Meanwhile, Larkana District Coordination Officer Abdul Aziz Uqaili announced sending Rs200,000 worth blankets and two trucks loaded with edible items to the affected areas of Balochistan on behalf of the district government.
