ISLAMABAD, Oct 28: A man died after excessive drinking here on Tuesday, officials said.

According to the police, passers-by informed the law enforcers that a body was lying by the roadside in I-10/2. A police team reached the spot and shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) where the deceased was identified as a resident of Khayaban-i-Sir Syed.

Initial investigations revealed that the man consumed a large quantity of alcohol somewhere in Rawalpindi along with his friends and was returning home when he fell on the road and died. His family also confirmed that he was a drunkard. The police said now they were trying to identify the place from where the deceased bought the alcohol and whether it was poisoned or not.

Meanwhile, a Malik Tahsin’s luxury jeep was stolen from outside his house in Sector G-11/2, while Abdul Ghafar’s motorcycle was lifted from the parking area of Pims.
