BADIN: Oil dividend to be invested

BADIN, Oct 28: The government has decided to release and invest the funds collected through production bonus from the oil and gas exploration and commercial production of its concession areas.

The people of Badin will also benefit for which the district government will constitute a committee, including the members of British Petroleum to decide the priority of welfare schemes.

This was stated by Naseeurddin Pirzada, community relations administrator of British Petroleum (BP), while talking to journalists about company’s human potential investment at Khaskheli oilfield camp office on Monday.

He said there were 110 and 77 oil and gas wells producing 5,413 barrel of oil and 93.53 cubic feet of gas (equal to 20,578 barrel of oil) daily from Badin block.

Mr Pirzada refuted the allegation about lack of interest on behalf of the company in carrying out development works and in the district added that $150,000 were being spent on the community development works.
