ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: Pakistan Television (PTV) finally opened their account after having lost 15 consecutive matches in Pakistan Premier Football League as they defeated Pakistan Navy 2-1 here at the Pakistan Sports Board Ground on Sunday.

PTV’s midfielders dominated the first session and took the lead when Mohammad Ishaq struck in the 45th minute just before half time.

Receiving a long pass from Sanaullah, he steered the ball past Navy’s goalkeeper.

Skipper Nomi Martin Gill equalised for Navy in the 56th minute. Winger Fakhre Alam slammed the match-winner for PTV in the 76th minute.

Despite repeated attempts Navy failed to level the match.

Navy now have a total of 20 points from 15 matches while PTV gained three points from 16 matches, scoring only 10 goals.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rasool became the new top scorer with 14 goals, outpacing 12-goal Shakir Lashari (PIA), scoring both goals in KRL’s 2-0 win over Pakistan Army at the KRL Stadium, Rawalpindi.
