DIG made OSD

LAHORE, Oct 27: Taking action against the recruitment panel for constables in Bhakkar district on charges of merit

violation, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has made DIG Mian Asif and Sargodha additional SP Dr Shehzad Waheed as OSD and suspended from service DPO Wali Mohammad, says a handout.

A son of DPO Wali Mohammad applied for post of constable on the bogus domicile of Bhakkar whereas he belonged to Sahiwal.

The DPO declared his son successful in the interview and recruited him whereas other officers, despite knowing the facts, sided with him and thereby indulged in blatant violation of merit.

The chief minister posted DIG Mian Asif and additional SP Dr Shehzad Waheed as OSDs and the federal government is being recommended to take disciplinary action as well as suspension of the officers.

Meanwhile, DPO Wali Mohammad has been suspended with immediate effect. The chief minister has further directed a regular inquiry by the Sargodha commissioner against officials responsible for the issuance of a bogus domicile.

APP ADDS: Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tareen called on Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Monday.

The national economy and other issues came under discussion during the meeting.

The adviser informed the chief minister of the steps being taken by the federal government for steering the country out of economic crisis as well as overall economic stability. — APP
