MITHI, Oct 24: Dialysis unit of Civil Hospital Mithi, that remained non-functional for last five years, was inaugurated here on Thursday. DCO Samiuddin Siddiqui inaugurated the unit.

Speaking at the occasion, EDO Health, Dr Nawaz Abbasi, said the machinery and equipments for the unit were provided by the provincial government in 2004, however it could not function due to non-availability of required trained doctor and other staffers during this period.

Consequently hepatitis and kidney patients of Thar had to spend a lot of money and time by going to Hyderabad and Sujawal for treatment.

However, a local doctor Dr Harish Jagani, after completing required training, instead of seeking a lucrative post in urban area, offered his services to look after the unit.Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Siddiqui announced that funds would be provided from DCO accounts for purchase of equipments etc. for the unit.

He said that patients suffering from hepatitis and kidney problems, should take complete facility of treatment at this unit.

TRANSFER: DPO Tharparkar, Zahirdin Tunio, has transferred SHOs of Mithi and Nagarparkar police stations. He has transferred Majid Kaimkhani, SHO Mithi to police line, posting Mohammad Hassan Rahoomo inn his place.

Vijay Kumar, SHO Nagarparkar has been transferred and posted as SHO Chachro. Posting of SHO at Nagarparkar police station is still to be made.

It would be pertinent to mention here that despite clear directives of IG Sindh that no ASI should be allowed to work as in charge SHO, ASIs having connections at right quarters have been working as in charge SHOs, particularly at Islamkot and Khainsar police stations.
