KARACHI, Oct 23: After finishing runners-up in the league to second seed Punjab, top seed PAF stormed back when they took a sweet revenge by inflicting a 2-0 defeat on them in the final to land the boys team title in the Hasan Musa Under-15 Squash Championship at the Hyderabad Gymkhana on Thursday.

Earlier, Balochistan overcame hosts Sindh 2-1 in the playoff to seize third position in the four-team competition.

Similarly, Sindh which went down to Punjab in the league fixture on Wednesday, fought with vengeance beating the latter in three games final to claim girls title.

Only two teams featured in the girls’ event.

The PAF had a dismal run in the preceding individual event when Faraz Mohammad, the top seed, lost the title battle going down to third seed Ali Bokhari of Punjab 8-10, 5-9, 5-9.

However, Faraz played a vital role in his team’s triumph on the concluding day as he recovered from two games down to post a 3-2 (1-9, 1-9, 9-3, 10-8, 10-8) victory over Ali after Fazal had won the opener against Moin straight 9-5, 9-7, 9-5.

The final was followed by medals presentation ceremony where Nazim Hyderabad, Kanwar Naveed Jamil, graced the occasion.

Boys final:

PAF bt Punjab 2-0 (Fazal Mahmood bt Moin Rauf 9-5, 9-7, 9-5; Faraz Mohammad bt Ali Bukhari 1-9, 1-9, 9-3, 10-8, 10-8).

Playoff for third position:

Balochistan bt Sindh 2-1 (Mohammad Aijaz bt Bilal Khan 9-4, 9-1, 9-2; Saif Ullah lost to Saad Shahid 1-9, 7-9, 7-9; Javed Ali bt Asbak Khan 9-1, 9-4, 9-1.

Girls final:

Sindh bt Punjab 2-1 (Mehak Shakeel bt Kaiynat 9-0, 9-0, 9-0; Habiba Khan lost to Riffat Khan 5-9, 6-9, 3-9; Ayesha Zafar bt Monisa Nasir 9-0, 9-3, 9-2.
