LONDON, Oct 22: Indian Test batsman Vangipurappu Laxman has signed up to play for Lancashire in 2009, the English county side announced on Wednesday.

The move, which still requires approval by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, will see the player arrive in England after his Indian Premier League participation and stay for the rest of the season. Currently representing his country in the Test series against Australia, Laxman said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay with Lancashire in 2007, and I am thrilled to be returning to Old Trafford next year.”—AFP
