ATTOCK, Oct 22: A woman was shot dead by her husband over a family dispute in Ghorghusti village while two other persons were killed in separate incidents elsewhere in the district, police said.

Waheed, a resident of Malickmala village, reported to the Hazro police that his daughter, Samrah, got married with Mohammad Irshad of the Ghorghusti village some 11 months ago.

However, their relations soon strained and she came back to her parents’ house a few days back. Later, she was persuaded and sent back to her own house on the assurance of her in-laws that she would be treated properly. But the promise proved a futile exercise as her husband again started committing violence against her.

He said he received information on Tuesday evening that her daughter had been shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital Hazro. He said when he along with his wife reached the hospital, he found the body of his daughter lying there. He alleged that she had been shot in the chest. The deceased’s father alleged that his son-in-law was involved in the killing of his innocent daughter. The Hazro police have registered a case and started investigation.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead and his brother injured by three armed persons in the Malickmala village of Hazro.

The injured Sajid reported to the Hazro police that his brother Nazakat and he were present at their house on Tuesday night when three unknown armed persons opened fire at them and fled.

As a result, his brother died on the spot while he sustained injuries and was rushed to the tehsil headquarters hospital. The police reached the crime scene but failed to trace the outlaws.

In another incident, a railway employee fell from a passenger train and died near Domail railway station on Attock-Kundian section on Tuesday evening.

The passenger came under the wheels after he tried to step down from the slow-moving train. The deceased identified as Razaak, a resident of Domail village, worked at the Jhallar railway station.
