KARACHI, Oct 21: Eight ships carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where 11 ships, Lucky Arrow and Island Star to load cement and clinker, Sinar Bintan, Kota Gunwan, Bunga Teratai-4 and APL Yokohama to unload and load containers and Golden Top, an oil tanker, were accommodated berths Tuesday.

Sailing was also active as seven ships, Bunga Delima, Deja Bhum, H.H. Tide, Al-Marwah, Lanka Mahapola and Flag Investor departed, while Johar, Ulcas, Bunga Teratai-4, D.D. Vigor, APL Yokohama, Kety-2, Lucky Arrow and Bolan are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly active where a total tonnage of 119,000 tons comprising 40,485 tons of export cargo including 3,170 tons of rice and 78,316 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: APL Shenzhen, Cosco Lian Yun, Soon Fu, Hyundai Highway and Adriatic Arrow with containers and Nicetec with general cargo.
