LAHORE, Oct 19: On the assurance of the chief minister, young doctors have postponed their Monday’s strike in public hospitals in the province.

Young Doctors’ Association President Dr Sohail Rana and General Secretary Dr Salman Kazmi told a news conference here on Sunday that after the chief minister’s statement that their grievances would be redressed they had called off strike.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in a handout said that sympathetic consideration would be given to the demands of doctors and he would soon meet them. Dr Sardar M Ali Ayaz informed him the problems of young doctors in a meeting. The chief minister said the service structure of doctors was being improved so that they could perform their duty with devotion and dedication. — Staff Reporter
