HYDERABAD, Oct 18: Sindh Minister for Labour Ameer Nawab Khan has directed that officials of the Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (Sessi) not to avoid registration of industrial units as it is necessary to ensure all facilities to the workers under Sessi.

He issued these directives during his surprise visit to the Social Security Institution here on Saturday. The commissioner of the institution, Shahid Gulzar Shaikh, the director-general of the Sindh Workers’ Welfare Board, Zafar Saleem, and others were also present.

He issued strict instructions to the director Hyderabad to send Sessi officials in the field to compile a list of workers from various industrial units for registration so as to provide them all facilities available under the social security scheme.

The minister was informed that till date, 1,200 units had been registered under the social security scheme. The minister also visited the Sessi hospital where he administered polio drops to children. He also inspected the under-construction portion of the hospital on which Rs6.9 million were being spent.
