KARACHI, Oct 18: Four ships scheduled to load/off-load containers, cement and palm oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, five more ships carrying containers, crude oil, furnace oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Nine ships, New Delhi Express, Ville-De-Aquarius, Jima Kos-T, Van Coure, Giorgis Milas, New Seto Kaz, Transport, Mariann and Ocala, were busy in loading and offloading containers, rice, cement, wheat, palm oil, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 68,394 tons comprising 48,705 tons of import and 19,689 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Ataqa, Mariann, New Delhi Express and Ville-De-Aquarius sailed out while New Seto Kaze, Giorgis Milas and Ocala were expected to depart.
