BADIN, Oct 16: Few canny organisations are out to play with the sentiments of jobless youths, and in the course make easy cash by offering employment in the Education Department. What a novel way to rub the wounds of an emotionally injured young man.

The PDO is one such organisation which splashed an advertisement seeking job applications for the post of primary school teachers and English language teachers (BPS-9). Matriculation and Intermediate pass candidates were called to fill in the two posts, respectively.

Only those applications carrying a postal order or prize bond worth Rs200 were to be entertained, along with educational certificates and two photographs.

The queer advertisement appearing on October 6 in a local newspaper sought all documents to be delivered to manager, human resources, PDO, Karachi, Karsun Complex, D-11, Block 2, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Karachi, by October 18.

Applications were being purportedly called on behalf of the Sindh Education Department.

However, more interesting is the Sindh Education Department’s cool response over the issue as it has failed to take notice of such an advertisement.

When contacted, EDO Education Ghulam Nabi Daedano denied the Sindh Education Department of officially informing his office of initiating such a move. The department has neither communicated seeking applications nor of collecting any amount from vying candidates, he said.

“I have also gone through the advertisement and was astonished over the mode of seeking money through prize bonds and postal orders. I am surprised of such a demand as nothing of the sort has been brought to the notice of education officers during a departmental meeting recently held in Karachi”, he said.

He said that a large number of people have contacted him to ascertain the veracity but went back with a big NO in answer.

People awe the thoughtless tactics of playing with emotions and pockets of poor jobless youngsters. They demanded a thorough inquiry into the matter.
