GUJRANWALA, Oct 15: In a Bollywood-style thriller, the Gujranwala police shattered the dream of a youth of becoming ‘millionaire’ overnight by plotting his own kidnap and extracting money (ransom) from his father.

Regional Police Officer Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema told journalists on Wednesday that the police received information that Abdul Waheed had been kidnapped for ransom from Wazirabad.

The police investigated the matter and arrested a person from Lahore, who informed the police that he was Abdul Waheed and faking as an abductee to collect ransom amount from his father to meet some pressing needs.

The RPO said the police were digging deep to ascertain the actual cause of the youth’s act.
