LAKKI MARWAT, Oct 15: Provincial Institute for Teachers Education (Pite) organised the launching ceremony of Professional Development Forum (PDF) of male teachers at the Government Centennial Model High School for Boys here on Wednesday.

The Pite Director, Eid Badshah, Deputy Director Arif Ali, Senior Instructor Ashraf Ali, District Officer Elementary and Secondary Education Department (ESED) Noor Hasan Khan, Assistant District Officer Primary Saifur Rehman and a large number of teachers from primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools attended the ceremony.

Four districts, including Buner, Abbottabad, Lakki Marwat and Chitral were selected as model districts for setting up Professional Development Forum of both male and female teachers, speakers said. They said the PDF would be established in all the 24 districts and at the provincial level. The speakers said that the forum had been formed in Abbottabad and Chitral before initiating the move to constitute the body in Lakki Marwat district.

The teachers’ forum will help improve the quality of education, overcome the problems of teachers, students and educational institutions besides providing opportunities to teachers and educational managers to sit together and chalk out a joint and comprehensive strategy for resolving the education related problems in the district.

The forum will also hold regular meetings to enable the members to discuss problems, share experiences, observations, resources, new ideas and innovations, formulate a calendar for the academic year and ensure its implementation.

The speakers said that officials of the training outposts of Pite would assist and provide technical support to the PDF.
