PR switches over to winter timetable

LAHORE, Oct 14: Eight trains will run with new names, 23 other will have new stops while another 52 express and mail trains will switch over to winter timings from today (Wednesday).

According to a Pakistan Railways announcement, Buraq Express (5-up/6-down) will now be called Tezrao; Islamabad/Lahore Non-Stop (107-up/108-down) will be Islamabad Express; Mianwali Non-Stop (147-up/148-down) will be Mari Indus Express; Gunnun Express (209-up/210-down) will be Faiz Express; Fast (211-up/212-down) will be Khush Kharaam Passenger; Passenger (213-up/214-down) will be Hashim Shah Passenger; Passenger (215-up/216-down) will be Mauj Darya Passenger and Mixed (333-up/334-down) will be Koh-i-Noor Mixed.

NEW STOPS: Tezrao (6-down) and Millat Express (18-down) will now be stopping at Landhi station; Shah Ruken-i-Alam Express (29-up/30-down) at Zarif Shaheed, Gilawala, Samasatta, Liaquatpur, Mubarakpur and Dur stations.

Supper Express (33-up) will be stopping at Landhi station; Farid Express (37-up/38-down) at Mubarakpur and Jamraniwah stations; Express (38-down) and Pakistan Express (46-down) at Drig Road, Ghauri Express (113-up/114-down) at Farooqabad, Ravi Express (121-up/122-down) at Chichoki Mallian, Qila Sattar Shah and Missan Kalar stations; Bahawalpur Express (143-up/144-down) at Chutiana; Mari Indus Express (147-up/148-down) at Pai Khel, Sialkot Express (171-up/172-down) at Qila Sobha Singh; Faisal Express (177-up/178-down) at Momin and Darul Ihsan; Kundian Passenger (241-up/242-down) at Ludewala and Wegowal stations.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Express (45-up/46-down) will be stopping at Wazirabad for three minutes from the previous two minutes and Farid Express (37-up/38-down) for five minutes at Arifwala, Mandi Burewala, Vehari, Mailsi and Karor Pakka from the previous two minutes.

STOPS ELIMINATED: The stoppage of Hazara Express (11-up/12-down) at Riazabad, Quetta Express (23-up/24-down) at Peshawar city, Bahauddin Zakria Express (25-up/26-down) at Zarif Shaheed, Gilawala, Samasatta, Liaquatpur, Dera Nawab Sahib and Mubarakpur and Lasani Express (125-up/126-down) at Mehta Suja have been eliminated.

TRAIN RESTORED: Mehran Express (149-up/150-down), running between Karachi City and Mirpur Khas, temporarily suspended after Dec 27, 2007, riots, has been restored.

REGULARISED: Three shuttle trains running on Malakwal branch line have been regularised by allotting them proper numbers.

The A-up/ B-down and C-up and D-down, running between Malakwal and Miani, will now operate as 249-up/250-down and 251-up/252-down, respectively, while the E-up/F-down, running between Malakwal and Pind Dadan Khan, will now operate as 253-up/254-down.Meanwhile, Faisalbad Express (35-up/36-down) will now terminate at Karachi city instead of Karachi cantonment station.
