Petroleum stocks

Published October 15, 2008

KARACIH, Oct 14: Oil marketing companies and refineries are carrying out a review related to country stocks of petroleum products (especially those that are imported: HSD, jet fuel, furnace oil) to minimise imports and to maximise local product availability, thereby saving precious foreign exchange.

According to an Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC) press release, this analysis will endeavour to ensure that the targeted volumes keep country stocks at acceptable levels, and ensure that petroleum product demands are met.

A meeting of the OCAC was held on Tuesday to draw up industry’s recommendations, which would be shared with government officials once ready, it said.—Staff Reporter
