Sportfishing tournaments planned

KARACHI, Oct 13: Karachiites will be treated to two exciting offshore sportfishing tournaments slated for the coming season, Agha’s Sportfishing announced here recently.

The first event, TAS 2008 - the Arabian Sea Sportfishing Tournament - is scheduled for Sunday, Oct 19 while TKO 2008 - the Karachi Offshore Sportfishing Tournament – will be held on Sunday, Nov 2.

Both these events are to start at 7:30a.m. on from Mubarrak Village and will end between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. at the WWF Wetland Centre at Sandspit where the friends of marine sports and environment will receive them.

All the participating anglers will bring their fish catch to the WWF centre at Sandspit for weighing after which a marine presentation and prize distribution celebrations will be held.

Offshore anglers of either sex who have experience of open sea fishing can take part in this adventurous outdoor event. Both the events are being organized by Agha’s Sportfishing with MTV and FM89 as media partners. Agha’s Sportfishing tournament committee comprises of Syed Aziz Agha as Tournament Director and Ali Reza, Farrukh Habib, Sabiha Agha, Riaz Hussain, Aamir Basrai, Musi Raza, Agha Badar, Asif Shaikh, Abdul Wasi, Kamran Sami, Mohammed Waseem as committee members.—Agencies
