LAHORE, Oct 13: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday warned the prayer leader of a Nishtar Colony mosque that he would be sent to jail in case he maltreated his wife.

Sajid was warned during the hearing of a petition for custody of children filed by his wife Kulsoom. She submitted that Sajid had turned her out of house but kept their four children.

The imam told the court that he had been married to Kalsoom for the past nine years and loved her and their children. He had turned her out of house when she talked to him in a harsh language.

After being warned by the court, the imam took his wife home and assured that he would treat her properly.

DETENTION: The Lahore High Court also disposed of a petition filed by Asif Bokhari against the alleged unlawful detention of his brother Shahid by the CIA Model Town after the SHO submitted that he had been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Mozang Chungi and later sent to jail.

The district coordination officer submitted that he had not ordered Shahid’s arrest.
