ISLAMABAD, Oct 13: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday directed the authorities to defer/stop forthwith gas load-shedding for industries in the country.

“The prime minister has taken notice of ongoing industrial gas load-shedding from Oct 11 contemplated by the gas companies,” said a notification.

It was pointed out to the prime minister by trade and industry that they have not been fully consulted. The prime minister, therefore, directed that industrial gas load-shedding be deferred till consultations with all stakeholders.

He further directed that interconnections with the new gas discoveries at Qadirpur gas fields shall wait till further notice to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to industrial units.
