KARACHI, Oct 12: After having lost five continuous matches, underdogs Baloch Mujahid seem to be back with a vengeance after the Eid holidays as they beat the former league toppers Karachi Kickers 4-1 in the KASB Premier League Football tournament at the CDGK Stadium on Saturday.

In another match, Sharafi Mohmmadan were awarded a walkover when their opponents Shahzad Mohammadan failed to show up on time.

Even after going down 1-0 at halftime, Baloch Mujahid came back into the game to score as many as four goals over their mighty opponents to grab their first win in the tournament.

Omar Bakhsh scored two and his fellow strikers Taj Mohammad and substitute Fahim Abbas scored one goal each.

Left winger Irfan Junejo scored the lone goal for Karachi Kickers.

The win gives Baloch Mujahid who, are at the bottom of the points table, their first three points, while Karachi Kickers are now placed third with 13 points.

Irfan Junejo scored the first goal for Karachi Kickers in the 29th minute after several failed attempts from Baloch Mujahid.

But the second session belonged entirely to Baloch Mujahid. Their skipper Taj Mohammad led from the front by giving his team their first goal in the 52nd minute. This was followed by Omar Bakhsh’s two in the 61st and 75th minutes with Fahim Abbas sealing the fate of the match with his own humble contribution in the 90th minute.

The other match between District Malir champions Sharafi Mohammadan and Shahzad Mohammadan saw Sharafi getting a walkover as well as three points and three goals when Shahzad Mohammadan failed to show up at the ground on time. The decision takes Sharafi to the top of the points table with 14 points. Shahzad Mohammadan have eight points.
