KHAR, Oct 12: At least 15 militants were killed in air raids and clashes with tribal volunteers in Bajaur Agency on Sunday.

Officials said four militants and two volunteers of a tribal lashkar of Charmang were killed in clashes and 11 suspected Taliban died in air attacks. Fifteen people were injured in the clashes and air attacks.

Helicopters supporting the tribal lashkar strafed suspected militant positions in Charmang near the Afghan border.

The clashes had broken out on Saturday after the killing of eight kidnapped tribesmen.

An official said militants had an edge over the lashkar because they were using heavy weapons.

He said the militants were receiving support from Kunar in Afghanistan.
