GUJRAT, Oct 11: Unidentified men kidnapped a teenaged girl for ransom when she was going to her school in village Kot Ala Bukhsh in Kunjah Police precincts on Saturday.

Gulshan Tahira, a Class-VIII student of Hoonan Gharbi village, was going to her school in Kot Ala Bukhsh when some unidentified armed men kidnapped her.

The abductors later contacted 13-year-old’s uncle, Liaqat Ali, on telephone and demanded Rs2 million ransom. The police registered a case and started investigations.

It is the second incident of kidnapping of schoolgirls for ransom in Kunjah police precincts during last two weeks. Earlier, Farzeen Shehzadi, a Class V student of village Jamu Bula, was kidnapped for ransom on Sept 29. The police, however, recovered the girl and arrested her abductors on Oct 3.
