KARACHI, Oct 10: Six ships carrying containers, general cargo and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Vertigo, bulk carrier, Kapitan Byankin, APL Chicago and FAR Singapore to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of five.

The departing ships were led by Johar, Lena, Hyundai Baron, Kapitan Byankin and APL Chicago, while Sima Pride, Blida and Harissa are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 111,000 tons comprising 42,024 tons of export cargo and 68,491 tons of import tonnage was handled on Friday.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Scalo-1 to load 23,000 tons of cement, Lanka Mahapoln with general cargo, Karla Omavra with machinery, Bavaria Express, Deja Bhum and Sima Sahba with containers.
