ISLAMABAD, May 9: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has notified duty drawback facility on export of vegetable ghee and cooking oils.

The CBR, in this regard, issued a notification here on Thursday amending the SRO415 issued on June 18, 2001. The duty repayment on exports of these products will be effective from May 7, 2002 on ward, said the notification.

The repayment of customs duty on export of vegetable ghee (Banaspati or Vanaspati) and its raw materials—RBD palm oil, soyabean oil, BP flavour, vitamin AD 3, Nickel catalyst, sodium methylate, bleaching earth;,citric acid and phosphoric acid—will be available at a rate of Rs9681.83 per ton.

On export of cooking oil (soyabean or rapeseed or sunflower or coconut or RBD palm or RBD palm olein or RBD palm kernel) and its raw materials soyabean oil or crude rapeseed oil or crude sunflower oil or crude coconut oil or RBD palm oil or RBD palm olein oil or RBD palm kernel oil, BP flavour, vitamin AD 3, bleaching earth, citric acid, phosphoric acid, TBHQ food and grade chemical (antioxidant) the rate of duty drawback will be Rs9681.83 per ton.

The rate of duty drawback will be Rs152 per ton on export of cooking oil (canola or cotton seed or corn seed) and its raw materials—BP flavour, vitamin AC 3, bleaching earth; citric acid, phosphoric acid and TBHQ food grade chemical (antioxidant).
