WWF levy deferred

Published October 10, 2008

ISLAMABAD, Oct 9: The government has agreed to defer levy of the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) on exporters and industrialists for a period of two years.

This was stated by Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Finance Ahmad Ali in a statement issued here on Thursday.

He said that it was one of the major demands of the exporters, and the committee had successfully managed to negotiate with the quarters concerned for its deferment.

He hoped that this decision would prove to be a major incentive for promoting exports.—Staff Reporter
