TAXILA, Oct 8: A man was shot dead in the high-security area of Gudwal on Wednesday, Wah Cantonment police said.Akhtar Hussain was heading home in the locality’s Sector 26 when two motorcycle riders opened fire on him. Mr Hussain received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Authorities handed over the body to the victim’s relatives after an autopsy at the Taulka Headquarters Hospital, Taxila.
The Wah Cantonment police registered a case against unknown people and started investigations.
Meanwhile, four armed men travelling in a car looted a man at gunpoint on the G.T. Road near Nawababad, the police said.
Raja Abdul Hafeez, owner of Abbasi General Store, told the Wah Cantonment police that he was going to a local bank in his jeep to deposit cash when a car intercepted his vehicle. Four young men armed with pistols snatched more than Rs100,000 and escaped.— Correspondent
