WWF levy

Published October 7, 2008

KARACHI, Oct 6: The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (Kati) has strongly condemned notices issued by the FBR to exporters for the recovery of millions of rupees dues towards the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF).

Kati’s patron-in-chief S M Munir and chairman Shaikh Fazle Jalil said in a joint statement that having paid one per cent withholding tax as the final tax liability, the exporters need no further assessment.

Secondly, all charging sections of the relevant law apply prospectively and WWF levy can not be charged with retrospective effect, says a press release.
