BAHAWALPUR, Oct 3: A lawyer and his father were killed and six others injured in a crossfire between two rival groups in Chak 143/DNB near Yazman, about 30 kilometres from here, on Eid day.

According to the police, the men belonging to rival Khadim and Hayat groups clashed when they were returning home after offering Eid prayers. As a result, Hayat group’s Umar Hayat and his lawyer son were killed at the scene and two people of their group were injured.

Four people from Khadim group were also injured. Four of the six injured were said to be in a critical condition in a local hospital.

Police say 21 people from both groups are wanted to Head Rajkan police for murder and attempt to murder.
