SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 28: Manga Mandi and Sharaqpur police rescued on Sunday a nine-year-old boy kidnapped for ransom by his close relative two days ago.

Arif Ali, Bhai Kot Primary High School headmaster, informed Police Emergency 15 that Shahid, alias Sajid, had been kidnapped by some unidentified people from school.

Police learnt that five people came to the school in a car (LEC-5378) and kidnapped the boy. Manga Mandi police registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s father, Ashraf Ali.

Police got the vehicles’ details from CRO Branch and found that the car was owned by Abdul Majeed, of Gulshan Ravi B-block.

Police met the car owner who informed that he had sold the car to Tariq, of Sharaqpur. Police raided the place of Tariq and rescued the boy as well as the vehicle used in the crime. Police say Munirul Hasan, who happened to be a son of the complainant’s real sister-in-law and lived in Pattoki, was the main culprit.

Munir wanted to become rich overnight for which he made a gang and kidnapped the boy for ransom.

Police arrested Munirul Hasan, Mohammad Anayat, Mohammad Husain, Zulfiqar and Tariq.

BODY FOUND: The body of security guard of SP Dr Suleman was found by Ferozewala police. Arshad had been kidnapped some time back.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Arshad was assassinated by his friend Iqbal. Police have started investigating.
