Student stabbed to death

OKARA, Sept 27: A student stabbed to death his class fellow over some petty issue in Chak 42-GD, some 25km from here, on Saturday.

Reports reaching here said Ali Raza and Muhammad Abrar, both aged 13, had quarrelled with each other. Later, Abrar whipped out a dagger and stabbed his fellow to death on the spot.

Gogera police have registered a case.

SHOT DEAD: Six armed cattle-lifters shot dead a farmer on resistance in Chak 11-GD, Kalapur, late on Friday night.

Reports said Haji Talib along with his son, Aslam, was asleep at his cattle farm when armed men came there to take away cattle.

Talib woke up and injured one of the dacoits with a gunfire shot.

His accomplices returned the fire, killing Talib on the spot. Later, the intruders escaped with his injured accomplice.

On receiving information, the police chased the criminals and succeeded in arresting injured dacoit Shajar and his accomplice Haleem while the rest of dacoits managed to escape in the darkness.

INJURED: Unidentified bandits thrashed and injured activists of Tableeghi Jamaat during a dacoity in the mosque of Lashari village on Saturday.
