SUKKUR, Sept 27: A teenaged girl was put to death by her uncle over the pretext of karo-kari in Mubarakpur village near Pano Akil, early on Saturday.

According to reports, accused Mohammad Hassan Mahar suspected his 19-year-old niecce of illicit relations with a man because of which he shot her dead and fled. Area police on information shifted the body to taluka hospital, Pano Akil for post-mortem and later and handed it over to relatives.

Loadshedding: The entire Sukkur city plunged into darkness on Saturday night following forcible disconnection of power supply by Director Regional Control Centre, Hyderabad. This created hardships especially for namazis and shoppers, more so women.

The majority of women shoppers were soft targets for street vandalisers who took garb of the darkness and deprived many them of their valuables.
