Bank manager booked for fraud

SIALKOT, Sept 24: Daska police have registered a fraud case against Punjab Cooperative Bank Manager Amanullah and suspended from service MCO Shahid Goraya for withdrawing Rs960,000 loans on forged documents.

According to the FIR, Amanullah and Goraya allegedly used the names of farmers Ashiq Hussain and Muhammad Asif of Gojra village to get the loans under the so-called Dairy Development Project. However, none of the accused has been arrested.

SEALED: A district health official has sealed 26 medical stores and clinics across Sialkot district for selling expired medicines and using veterinary medicines in the treatment of human beings and sent their challans to a drug court in Lahore.

SIKH PILGRIMS: Dozens of Sikh pilgrims from Britain, Canada, Australia and India visited their ancestors’ homes in Sialkot, Zafarwal and Shakargarh on Wednesday.

Talking to newsmen, the pilgrims expressed their hope that the ongoing peace process between Pakistan and India would result in resolution of all outstanding disputes between the two countries.
