SIALKOT, Sept 23: A bomb disposal squad on Monday night defused a 20kg mortar shell in Shakargarh’s far-off bordering village.

Reports said some villagers found the mortar shell while ploughing fields near Meesrati. A bomb disposal squad defused it.

Officials said the mortar shell had gathered rust and was still alive. It had probably been used during the 1971 war.
